Re(New) Class 2022
This series is a conversation for people who are new(er) to St. Clare’s and for anyone who wants to talk with others about what life in Christian community means after a time of disruption and change. We’ll use themes from the book The Church Cracked Open: Disruption, Decline, and New Hope for Beloved Community by Stephanie Spellers to guide us, but if you don’t have time to read a book, it’s not required!

Sunday, May 1 at 1:30 pm (Chapters 1 and 2)
Why Christian? A discussion of Christian life in a COVID world.

Sunday, May 15 at 1:30 pm (Chapters 3 and 4)
Where do we come from? A wild ride through our history.

Sunday May 22 at 11:45 am (Chapters 5 and 6)
A tour of our building and its stories (open to all)

Sunday, May 29 at 1:30 pm (Chapters 7 and 8)
How are we called? Theology and practices that sustain, renew, and transform.

Saturday, June 4 at 5pm
Worshipping together: A “Roadmap to Communion” Q&A service in the St. Francis chapel. Potluck dinner together, weather permitting.

We’ll conclude our conversation together with a celebratory service on Pentecost (June 5). New members can officially join the church, and we can all renew our commitment to life together, as we celebrate the Spirit’s renewing power among us. Participate in person or on Zoom!
