Parishioners from Ann Arbor’s Unitarian/Universalist Church (UUAA) have invited St. Clare’s to join them in sponsoring a refugee family sometime this fall. UUAA brings valuable experience to the table, having sponsored a refugee family before. If you would be willing to do any of the following, please contact Lucia Cooper.
- greet a refugee family at the airport
- help find affordable housing for them
- transport new refugees to medical appointments
- help the adults in the family find employment
- help refugee children with their homework
- otherwise help the family adjust to their new home
You are also encouraged to join Rev. Anne and Lucia at the Mallett’s Creek AADL Branch, River Birch Room, at 06:30 pm on Monday, July 8, for a planning meeting with UUAA.
